When it comes to audience growth, artists are built differently.

Screenshot 2024-02-14 at 8.54.37 PM.png

We're intuitives. We're often more on the introverted side. We're not made to be influencers, to follow strict rules or de-code algorithms. Chasing trends or outputting endless content feels taxing to us for a reason.

That's why artists need (and deserve) an audience growth approach that's designed for them specifically.

  • A passionate artist with a desire to grow or expand upon an engaged community of art-lovers who love and support you/your work

  • Wanting to sell more pieces/products, attract paid commissions, and/or send more potential buyers to your website or Etsy shop (or at the very least, have the option to do any/all of these things!)

  • Motivated to grow your audience in an authentic way, letting go of the rules and growth "must-dos" you see people sharing about online, and cultivate a community without sacrificing the sanctity of your creative practice

  • Open to a holistic, artist-focused approach to growing online that prioritizes reflection, intention and connection over click-baity content

You are...

Screenshot 2024-02-11 at 2.38.29 PM.png

What if I told you that...

  • The algorithm (actually) loves to promote artists?

  • Posting every day isn't at all necessary in order to see huge growth online?

  • You don't need to become someone you're not, constantly switch up your content to stay relevant, or play by someone else's rules in order to reach (way) more people through sharing your art?

AAG Slide Deck (14)_edited.png

And growing your audience meant...

  • Learning to understand people instead of the algorithm?

  • Focusing on posting quality over quantity?

  • Falling in love with the creative content process as an artist and sharing authentically, rather than trying to fit yourself into a box you were never meant for?

Have we met yet?

Hey there creative soul, I'm Lauren. Mandala artist and former success coach for authenticity-driven online business owners.

I have unpopular opinions about what it takes to grow an engaged audience online.

In case you're new here (or just didn't know), before building Love & Dots, I worked for 5 years as an online marketing strategist and business coach for creative entrepreneurs. My brand was quite literally titled "The Aligned Entrepreneur".

In other words, I've helped thousands of creatives and visionaries around the world to build aligned, feel-good online businesses and audiences across Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, Facebook and popular Podcast platforms.

When I started my art business, I knew that building a large audience would be a primary focus for me, but I also knew I wasn't willing to do it in a way that didn't feel authentic or sustainable.

➡️ I probably post about once a week on average.

➡️ I've only ever chosen trending audios by accident.

IMG_5195.jpg

➡️ I can honestly say I don't pay any attention to the algorithm or what kinds of content it's favouring this week.

➡️ Almost all of my videos are longer than 30 seconds, and I have no interest in posting 5-second reels that don't align with what my brand
as an artist is all about (meditation, presence, & self-reflection).

➡️ I don't do any of the things that the so-called social media experts insist are necessary, and yet I've intentionally amassed an audience of 150,000 people (and monetized it effectively, too) inside of a year.

I believe that growing an engaged online audience as an artist, is much more about your energy and beliefs than it is about a particular strategy. It's much more about understanding people and how to meaningfully connect with them through your art, than it is about click-baiting people into helping make your content go viral.

By following the holistic approach laid out inside The Art of Audience Growth curriculum, my Instagram audience has organically grown by more than 100,000 followers in January of 2024 alone. All without burning myself out or decoding an ever-changing algorithm.

AAG is for the artist who desires growth without sacrificing the joy of their creative practice or trying to win at a popularity contest they never signed up for.

The Art of Audience Growth is not your typical Social Media course.

It's been built for artists, by an artist. It teaches a holistic and intuitive approach to creating content that gets seen by thousands and even millions, while honouring your unique essence and workflow as a creative.

The curriculum is designed to help you move through any internal blocks that may be keeping you stuck in overwhelm or imposter syndrome, before learning how to design and create content that's both true to your brand, and also super appealing to those you're most wanting to have in your audience.

The content creation approach is about connection, not click-bait. It's about creating a viewer experience that has people loving, sharing and saving your content.

Inside you'll learn how to honour yourself and your art practice as you grow an engaged online audience, allowing your art to reach way more of the right people, without sacrificing a single thing.

The AAG Curriculum

 Module 1

Your Success Mindset for Social Media

This four-part introductory module is the foundation upon which all audience growth can be built. Inside, you'll learn how to emotionally & energetically hold space for the audience you desire to cultivate, so that things like limiting beliefs, doubt and imposter syndrome don't become the reason you're not able to call in the community you deserve.

Inside Module 1, you will:

AAG Slide Deck (13)_edited.png
  • Understand the *real* reason why most people aren't able to build the social media following they wish to (hint: it has nothing to do with their content strategy)

  • Bust through the many myths involving over-saturation and social media growth in general

  • Learn why the algorithm is actually working hugely in your favour as an artist

  • Get your beliefs totally on board with growing exponentially online (without selling your soul to do it, either)

  • Learn my biggest secret & #1 tool for growing my art audience to 150,000 people inside of a year - I can guarantee it's not what you think

 Module 2

Success Foundations: Optimizing Your Online Profile

Your Instagram & TikTok bios and profile page are the most valuable real estate you have, when it comes to making an impression and directing traffic to your desired places online. Before we dive into the content creation portion of AAG, you'll learn inside Module 2 how to:

  • Choose an effective brand name/handle if you haven't yet

  • Write a bio that creates immediate familiarity, credibility, and intrigue

  • Create a link-in-bio page that sends your people to all the right places

  • Choose and create your profile highlights strategically, to connect with/warm up new audience members even when you're not posting

  • Niche down strategically, and approach your profile as a business (or potential business) and not a hobby account (and why it's immensely important that you do)

 Module 3

The Psychology of Viral Content: An Artist's Formula

Creating content that gets seen by thousands or millions of people, isn't about understanding an algorithm (in my personal opinion & experience). It's about understanding people, where they want to invest their time, and for what reason.

Inside Module 3, you will:

  • Get the inside scoop on the #1 most impactful type of content that has artists and their work get seen by millions

  • Get the customizable formula for content that performs; what to include and when to include it and the different content formats that effectively draw in new people

  • Learn the psychology behind what motivates people to either stay and watch/engage, or keep scrolling

  • The two different types of content to focus on to not only grow your audience, but keep it highly engaged too

  • Learn how to attract the right people into your audience, and be intentional about who you're creating content for, based on your personal growth goals

  • Learn how to create connection through sharing authentically and find your personal style that both aligns with your brand and draws in the right people

 Module 4

Authentic, Sustainable, Magnetic Content Creation for Artists (A Comprehensive How-To)

Inside AAG, you not only get the theoretical how-to, but also the step-by-step video tutorials, templates and examples to go along with it. Module 4 is all about the hands-on HOW of creating content that gets seen by many.

Inside Module 4, you will:

  • Learn my personal process for taking pictures, capturing videos, and editing my content

  • See my filming break-down and learn about the tools I've personally purchased that make taking pictures and videos as easy as it is captivating

  • Get two in-depth tutorials of me editing a short-form video start-to-finish, and see how I choose and use music to strategically pace my videos and make them truly enjoyable to watch

 Module 5

Sharing Your Story & Mastering Your Messaging

There's an art to writing written content that connects people to you and your work as an artist. Module 5 is the portion of the AAG curriculum where you learn how to write posts and captions that deeply resonate with people, and keep them coming back for more, sharing, and engaging with your content.

Inside Module 5, you will:

  • Learn the #1 key to writing content that captivates (it's a lot more psychology and service-based than it is strategic)

  • Learn how to use the power of storytelling to connect and create relatability with your audience (this is the one of the best things you can do to up your art sales, PS!)

  • Master the different types of written content, and learn when to use each

  • Become a pro at writing compelling copy (be it for your social media, website or email list if you have one)

 Module 6

Selling is Serving: An Artist's Guide to Feel-Good, Non-Salesy Selling

I don't just want you to build an audience. I want you to authentically monetize it, too. Contrary to popular belief, selling is a great service to those in your audience. Your people want to buy from you. Whether it's original artwork, prints, courses or any other means of monetizing your audience, Module 6 will teach you how to sell on your platform in an easy but effective way, letting your content do 99% of the work for you, while you give feel-good calls-to-action that are as authentic as they are profitable.

AAG Slide Deck (14)_edited.png

Inside Module 6, you will learn:

  • How to give easy calls-to-actions in your stories and posts that have people go from browsing to buying

  • The energy behind artwork that sells (and how to convey that in your content)

  • The service-based mindset that transforms any selling anxiety you might have, and allows you instead to stand confidently in your value as an artist

  • How I personally use my email list to "sell behind-the-scenes", allowing me to speak exclusively to those that my paintings and products are most relevant for, while I keep my public content super niche and concentrated around my art

 Module 7

Posting Schedule & Repurposing Your Content

There's a LOT of misinformation out there about how often it's necessary to post to your platforms, in order to see consistent, profitable growth in your audience. In Module 7, you'll learn why a lot of it simply isn't true, and the step-by-step approach to choosing a schedule that is as effective as it is sustainable, while being customized to you, personally.

Inside Module 7, you will learn:

  • The truth about posting schedules, and the real reason why some find it necessary to post multiple times a day in order to see growth, while others can post once every few weeks and experience the same outcomes where audience size is concerned (and which option is right and will be effective for you!)

  • The best time of day to post online

  • How to decide on a posting schedule that's both effective and sustainable

  • My biggest tips for repurposing your content across multiple platforms to get the biggest bang for your content creation buck

Yes! Each part of the curriculum can be watched via a private viewing link on YouTube, where you can select which language you'd like to add closed captions for.

How long do I have access to the course content for?

You have lifetime access to The Art of Audience Growth curriculum + The Art of Email Lists curriculum, including any and all additions I may make to either course in the future.

Where and how do I access the course?

AAG is hosted on my Kajabi members-only site, which is easy to use and comes with a free app you can download if you wish to, to take the course content with you wherever you go!

I'm just getting started on my art journey. Should I wait before joining AAG?

I personally started sharing to my Instagram and TikTok accounts within weeks of beginning my current art practice, because I wanted to share the journey and build a community around it as I went. I believe there is huge value in allowing people to share in the unfolding, and to feel like they're a part of it with you. The AAG teachings are applicable regardless of if you're just starting out, or are a seasoned artist with an existing audience you're wanting to expand upon.

I don't currently have anything for sale. Should I work on that first and then focus on audience growth?

Definitely not. For the reasons I gave in the last FAQ, and also because having an audience before creating your purchase-able product, is actually optimal. I started building my audience months before I had anything people could buy. Doing it this way meant that I could ask my audience what they wanted in the form of courses and content, and cater my time and efforts to offering things that I knew my people already had a desire for, which meant getting immediate sales for each of my courses, my original painting launches, and my print shop opening. If you have a desire to grow your income as an artist, don't sleep on building your community!

I already have a decently sized art audience online. Is AAG more suited to those just getting started?

Not at all. AAG is designed to meet you wherever you're at. Whether you already have a sizeable audience you're looking to grow, or you haven't hit publish on your first post yet, you'll find what you need to call in the community you desire inside the seven modules of the curriculum.

Is AAG only for people wanting to grow on Instagram? What if I'm wanting to grow on TikTok or YouTube?

The concepts shared inside The Art of Audience Growth can be applied to Instagram, TikTok, and/or YouTube, though examples discussed will most often be ones from Instagram. The mindset shifts and content you create inside of AAG will be effective for any platform that supports static posts and/or short-form video content. The curriculum will not address longer-form video (for YouTube), however those with YouTube channels will find success in applying much of the theory-based teachings from the course. We also cover repurposing content across specific platforms inside Module 5 and what's recommended for each social media site.

I prefer static posts over creating short-form videos. Will AAG still help me to grow my audience without posting video content?

It is 100% possible to grow with static posts, and the topics taught inside AAG will help with growth regardless of specific content types. However I HIGHLY recommend including short-form videos as a content type alongside your static posts for the best results and fastest growth. You will still hugely benefit from the AAG curriculum, however your audience growth is a lot less likely to happen quickly without them. In joining I urge you to be open, to try new things, and to experiment with all forms of content, especially video! Oh, and I promise I won't make you learn cringey TikTok dances or do anything you hate in the process!

Is there any support from you provided inside the course if I have questions?

For the first eight weeks of the course, students will have the opportunity to email-in questions and get them answered on a livestream. The replays for these Q&As will remain up as a permanent part of the curriculum. Outside of that, the answer is yes and no. There is a questions section below each module that I've left active, so that students inside may ask questions as they work through the course material. However this is not an included feature of the course, and answers to your questions are not guaranteed. I also am not able to provide feedback via Instagram or elsewhere. AAG is a DIY course and I'm able to offer it at a very accessible price point by not offering any official form of support to those inside after the first 8 weeks are over. However, if you have a question you may ask it in the Questions section and if I'm able, I'll write you a response.

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the nature of AAG and the content inside, there are no refunds available after you have purchased the course. This is a means of protecting my digital products/intellectual property, and ensuring that my business attracts those who truly respect my work and the time/effort that has gone into creating my curriculums. Please be sure you're committed before signing up. If you have any questions before deciding whether to purchase or not, please do not hesitate to contact me via the info listed below!

I have more questions, can we chat first?

Of course! Send me an email with any questions to hello@loveanddots.com, or message me on Instagram @loveanddots.
